Scope of Work
Holmes Electric worked directly for the Boeing Company and performed the Prime Contactor duties. The scope of the electrical work included replacing four 3000 amp double-end unit substations located in the penthouses of four separate buildings on the Boeing Kent Space Center campus and the replacement of approximately 5000 feet of 15kV armored cable routed between the campus service switchyard and the replaced unit substations.

  • Holmes Prime Contractor duties on this project included:
  • Preparing a detailed work plan and comprehensive construction schedule for the execution of the work
  • Administrative functions included running weekly meetings, preparing weekly minutes, weekly cost analysis for Boeing, tracking job progress, regularly updating the constructions schedule etc.
  • All buildings remained occupied during the substation and cable replacement work
  • Temporary power services and standby power generation was required on a 24/7 basis to serve the buildings during switchgear and cable replacement
  • All power outages where scheduled with Boeing to minimize possible impact to Boeing personnel
  • Holmes performed all work on time and within budget to the complete satisfaction of Boeing
