Remodel and addition to existing shopping mall. The 400,000-square-foot addition is on the south side of the center, with 75 specialty shops, a restaurant promenade, a dining terrace with views of Mount Rainier, a 16-screen theater and two parking structures. Westfield Southcenter has also expanded its family amenities and services to include play space, valet parking, family dining, a concierge center and family lounges. The shopping center opened in 1968 and was the largest enclosed mall in Washington at that time. It now has 1.7 million square feet, with 200 retail stores.
