This 140,000 sf, three-story plus basement building housed specialty support facilities for the Amgen Helix Campus. Sensitive laboratory equipment mandated a seismic isolated building from the basement foundation. The basement housed all the main electrical switchboards, redundant A-B UPS units and emergency-safety equipment; the vertical distribution crossing this seismic isolation required special installation. Moisture-tight and sealed to the ceiling lighting fixtures, special sealed wiring devices and sealed distribution equipment is used throughout this facility.
